Summer always starts at the beginning of June here. With both mine and the husband’s birthday, my focus for June is creating memories and summer fun, and that’s just what I did.
I appeared at Chateau Rhianfa for my second session, for Fathers’ Day. I bumped into a former colleague who was celebrating her 70th birthday with her family, they requested Beauty and the Beast, so that song had two plays. I didn’t repeat anything else though, and had nearly 3 hours of music content. (I did remember to take a break and stretch at the halfway point, honest!)
I attended a big networking event on the longest day of the year. The CAFT ladies lunch had 300 attending, and I didn’t feel any social anxiety. It was the first proper time where several ladies came over to me to say “hi” and strike up a conversation. That was definitely a level up on my networking skills.
One of the more experienced networkers said to me after “It’s because you look approachable and friendly!” I hope so 🙂
In other news, I’ve been shortlisted to play for a wedding in 2025. The lady has asked me to find 4 particular pieces and let her know with a short video if I can do them. That’s this week’s mini project!
I also got to see the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Live (Pontio), as well as the Bodyguard the Musical (Venue Cymru)
What are my plans for summer break?
Well like last year, I have a lot more flexibility for teaching slots, so if you want to learn a few basics just over summer get in touch. If you want to book in for September don’t delay too, as I only have a couple of slots left. (You can also get a head start over the summer holidays if you wish as well!)
Unlike last year, I won’t be narrating a whole book for audible, so I’ll be focussing on getting out in nature when the weather’s nice, and preparing for my photo shoot which is in mid August! Exciting times ahead!
