Read Time:2 Minute, 38 Second

We’re now into our second week of the new academic year, my child started full time school for the first time, and I started the term by going to my first ever (bigger) in person networking event- The “Double V Event”, where Lisa and Kat were celebrating their first anniversaries as their membership academies.

Over 40 ladies (and one guy!) attended, most of which had all met each other virtually over lockdown, so it was nice to finally meet people face to face!

I wasn’t expecting any awards to be given out, let alone for me to win one, I was so surprised I got emotional! It was so nice to be recognised for the journey I’ve been on during lockdown!

I happened to find the most “me” dress just the week before, so perfect timing from Popsy! The dress went well with my 7 year old “homemade” hat that I’d made back in 2014 for an event called “Miivision” as part of my gaming community!

I won the “Queen of Progress” award. The hosts have followed me pretty much since the start of my self development journey, and I’ve come a long way in the last 18 months.

This leads me on to the book!

I’m one of 15 co-authors, collaborating for a book called “SEEN”

book promo 1

In this book are the stories of how 15 women found their power, purpose and passion.

How does that involve me?

Well having had Generalised Anxiety Disorder since I was 13, only being diagnosed at 27, and finally finding the help I needed at the age of 34, that lockdown story is one to tell!

When I set up as a piano tutor in early 2016, I was still in the depths of Anxiety, and I was actually still scared of people. I would overthink everything, I would be convinced people thought I was rubbish, and be too afraid to follow up people too!

This is why I’m super grateful to those students who are still with me since “day one”!

My chapter is all about going from being scared of people, to being a confident Tropic Pianist Gamer!

If you’d like to get updates on the KINDLE book, it will be available to pre-order on 28th September. It launches on 10th October.

I also have an exciting event next Tuesday – I’ll be guest speaker for my local MIB Gwynedd & Anglesey Event with the title “Become Visible from the Invisible”

I’ll be touching on my story, how I overcame most of my anxiety disorder, and how you can help yourself too.

It’s my first real life speaking slot, so I hope if you’re local, and a woman in business, you’ll consider attending!

Networking is one of my favourite things to do. Even when I started as a Tropic Ambassador, my priority was about creating connections and friendships before anything else!
