In October I reached sleep deprivation territory again after 5 years of plainer sailing. The kid has been unsettled since May, but the lack of sleep is starting to take its toll on my mind. My memory is worse than usual, and I don’t feel as on top of things as I usually do. I’ve fallen off the consistency wagon for fitness, although I did manage to complete (a slower) 47th Parkrun this weekend too…
However I did make plenty of memories, and am still networking wherever I can.
This month saw my second wellbeing fair. I’d printed 1000 leaflets without dates on, so handwrote 1000 dates on, but then only managed to distribute about a third of them, as I ran out of steam on the Thursday. However I did manage to get posters around 6 different local towns.
We always take the lessons from what didn’t quite go right. This time’s lesson was yes do the postering, but don’t bother with the leaflets. The fair will be three hours rather than four, and ensure stallholders pay in advance rather than rely on cash on the day (I’d done that the first time, but it was such a scramble to get everyone this time, I ended up getting too stressed and didn’t chase people)
We did have a successful (and better attended) event though, so it was a win anyway!
The week before the fair I attended the annual Literary Lunch. It was the final one hosted by Sue France, but there’s rumours it may continue under someone else… Can’t wait to find out more!
It was a big shuffle for me though, as I had 4 bags to carry, and was getting changed in between things. Objectives managed, but because I was juggling so many bags, I didn’t really take any photos! Was so happy when poet Donna Ashworth signed my copy of her book, and also accepted the gift of my book (alas no photo!)
I’ve entered three students for their exams this season: 2 x Grade 4 and a Grade 1. All in preparation for that now, the home straight!
I’m now organising my Christmas Concert. If you buy your tickets early, you can request a Christmas tune to go on the programme.

I joke that I’m always planning something, but it’s true. If I’m not planning something as the Tropic Pianist Gamer, I’m planning the next Nintendo North Wales event 😛
At least I’ve ended October by reflecting on the high moments, because there’s been a lot of lows this month, mainly at 3am!!
